Fun and action on a summer holiday in Kaprun
This is not for bores! This is how a holiday at the Kitzsteinhorn and at the Maiskogel is described best. Whether brave summit conquerors mastering their first 3,000 metres high mountain, racy downhill rides on the Maisiflitzer alpine roller coaster, persistent uphills or heart rate increasing downhills on mountain bike routes, tobogganing fun in the Ice Arena on the glacier or letting off steam at the adventure playground –action and fun are on the agenda here!
Fun attractions at the Kitzsteinhorn and the Maiskogel
Young explorers love the KIDSsteinhorn adventure playground at the Alpincenter and rejoice when racing downhill on the Maisiflitzer Alpine Coaster to the Maiskogel lower terminus. This is also where the popular family and leisure park with slides, bouncy castles and much more is waiting for the kids. Have you ever been tobogganing in summer? In the Ice Arena at the glacier plateau, you can enjoy tobogganing even at the height of summer.
Activities for action-hungry holidaymakers
If you want to put your calf muscles to the test, then push the pedals of your bike uphill. Starting from the centre of Kaprun, the route leads uphill to the glacier region of the Alpincenter in 2,450 m above sea level. More leisurely is this route by E-mountain bike which can be recharged at the charging station at the Alpincenter. Action-hungry bikers, who prefer a downhill ride across curvy trails, can take the gondola lift uphill and opt for one of the three different freeride trails with a total of twelve kilometres, leading back into the valley.
- Mountain bike freeride trails
- Uphill route to 2,500 m above sea level
- E-mountain bike
The early bird does not catch the worm at the Kitzsteinhorn – it is treated to a glacier breakfast with the finest regional specialities like jam, cheese or bacon instead. For a delightful start to the day, breakfast is available at the Restaurant Gletschermühle and the Gipfel Restaurant until 11 am every day. Tip: A special experience is the breakfast at the Gipfel Restaurant in 3,000 metres above sea level – stunning view included!
The cable car to the Kitzsteinhorn summit station leads across one of the world's highest cable car supports boasting a spectacular height of 113 metres.
